Desde entonces, muchos pa\u00edses europeos han avanzado hacia la eliminaci\u00f3n del VHC. Las herramientas diagn\u00f3sticas y terap\u00e9uticas para diagnosticar y tratar f\u00e1cilmente la infecci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica por VHC ahora est\u00e1n bien establecidas. Tratar a todos los pacientes con infecci\u00f3n cr\u00f3nica por el VHC es m\u00e1s econ\u00f3mico que tratar y cuidar a los pacientes con complicaciones relacionadas con el h\u00edgado, cirrosis descompensada o carcinoma hepatocelular.
